Počítače, notebooky, internet.... Zástancovia moderných technológii sa jednoznačne zhodujú v tom, že ľuďom pomáhajú uľahčiť ich každodenný hektický život. Veď dnešný „moderný človek“ už nemusí ani vyjsť z domu a pár kliknutiami si vybaví všetko potrebné: rezervuje lístok na koncert obľúbenej kapely, zaplatí účty, poklebetí s priateľmi na sociálnej sieti či výhodne nakúpi veci od výmyslu sveta. Pre mnohé profesie sa počítače už dávno stali nevyhnutnou súčasťou ich pracovného prostredia.
Na druhej strane však moderná technika priniesla do novodobej spoločnosti aj akúsi samotu a izoláciu od okolitého sveta. Len si to predstavte: desať hodín večer, teenager zahĺbený do dôležitej debaty s tridsiatimi virtuálnymi priateľmi odušu kliká, prázdne obaly od čokolády a chipsov sa povaľujú po stole, domáci miláčik smutnými očami sleduje svojho pána, ktorý mu už pred tromi hodinami sľúbil večerné venčenie, zúfalá mama len bezmocne pokrčí plecami skonštatujúc, že tie smeti aj tak vynesie len ona. A nádej sveta do odpadnutia otvára a zatvára stránku za stránkou. Však musí už konečne dokončiť ten projekt do školy...
V nasledujúcich riadkoch budete mať možnosť prečítať si, ako vnímajú svet počítačov a internetu žiaci našej školy. Ôsmaci v tom totiž majú celkom jasno. A nielen v materinskom jazyku. V rámci hodiny anglického jazyka mali za úlohu napísať približne stoslovnú esej na tému Computer and me (Počítač a ja) v ktorej mali nielen popísať jeho výhody a nevýhody, ale zároveň i vyjadriť svoj vzťah k používaniu počítačov ako takých.

Computer and me
I think that computer is good for me. I sometimes read books in English on the Internet and I study English. I use the Internet every day and I think I am addicted. I usually go on Facebook or on Twitter and I write to my friends and famous people but they do not write me back. Then I am sad. Every day I spend a lot of time on the Internet. Sometimes five or six hours. I think the Internet is good but sometimes it is bad because we spend a lot of time on the Internet with Facebook or Twitter friends and we do not go out with real friends.

I know,that many people are addicted to computers.
But...
Am I like them?
Hm, I don’t think so.
In the past, computers were No.1 in my life,I had to play with them every day.
But these days,I’m ,,at the PC“ hardly once at week.
And I don't miss it.
A have got a substitution for the computer.
A mobile.
Okey,I know that in the computers there are some things faster and better and so on,but you can’t get the PC to the pocket J.

I use my computer in a lot of ways. I write to my friends and family on Facebook or Twitter. When I need some information, I use Google. I usually search for information for school projects. Sometimes, I watch films like The Host, Pitch Perfect or The Hunger Games. I watch a lot of films on the Internet because it´s free and you can watch it whenever you want to. I often listen to music and watch videos on Youtube. I usually call my friends and family on Skype. I call my dad every day. He is in Switzerland. I think that computer is useful because you can watch news about people that you like and you can find information which you need faster. Simona Nikoléniová, 8.B
I got my first computer when I was seven years old. My dad works on it every day. He works for one company, that makes shoes. My brother sometimes plays on it. I play a lot of computer games, too. I search for much information. Sometimes for projects and sometimes for homework. I think that computers are useful. They make our lives much more easier. You do not have to go to the library for any information and read and read a lot of books. But if you spent a very long time at the computer, your eyesight can get worse. Computer is sometimes my best friend! He can help me with many things. In our schol we get a lot of projects and homework....... We often look for the information on the Internet, because we sometimes write about things that are on the Internet and books! When we use Internet it is faster than searching in books. I use my computer for doing projects and chatting with my friends. I think that the internet is good , but more and more people are addicted to some websites, computer games........ Addiction is DANGEROUS!!!! –Computer addiction causes overweight or headache...... Some people use their computer for bad things –these people are pedophiles and hackers......
